ABOUT US

The spiritual meaning of "Bilquis" is compassionate, sensitive, and visionary. Compassionate because we have a feeling for someone other than ourselves.  I/ we are sensitive and receptive to self and others as  we have the ability to feel others pain or joy and visionary as we don't see just what is in front of us but see what is in the future which allows me/ we to navigate our actions and the world. As an eastern star, we strive to emulate each of the characteristics that the five heroines teach us. Adah,  through self-sacrifice, Ruth through loyalty,   Esther through purity and devotion, Martha through faith and belief and Electa through love. Our humanitarian contribution to the community and the world is by spreading  love , joy and good deeds to help others to live and flourish in their lives. We  have shown this in our efforts and mission to help our homeless community by providing food, clothing, shoes, toiletries and  resources to show them that they are not alone and we are here to help and guide them through circumstance and situations that are sometimes not by their own doing or choices. We have also  worked with helping woman and children who have been victims of unwanted violence and have worked to assist in providing them a safe haven and  basic everyday needs.  The goal is to give love and life which fuels me and my sisters in everything we do.
